God Bless My Child with the Favor of Man

1 Samuel 2:26, “And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord and men.”

Lord, as my child grows and he is blessed by Your hand and favor, let the favor of men also follow.

As he matures and perfects the gifts You give him, let others seek out these abilities to be used; may they bring advancement to him.

Allow growth in wisdom, bringing light to darkness for those around him.

May he possess qualities that cause influential people to look to him.

Through everyday encounters, grant favor toward my son.  Ordain a favorable walk throughout my his life.

Lord, bless him on his journey.  May he always know that Your presence is with him and Your hand is upon him.

Thank you, Father, for Your never-ending blessing.

In the Name of Jesus---Amen

God Bless My Child's Hands to Bless Others

Proverbs 10:4, “ . . . Diligent hands bring wealth.”

Father, You have given this young child two beautiful hands.

Hands to build, not to destroy.

Hands to reach, not to draw back.

Hands to give, not to hoard.

Hands to bless, not to afflict.

Bless his hands to fulfill Your purpose in his life.

Strengthen these hands for work; to be diligent in providing for his family.  Paul said, “ . . . rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.” (Ephesians 4:28)

Use his hands to reach to the feeble to lift them up and work eagerly for righteousness.

May all that he touches prosper.

Anoint his hands for healing.  When he lays his hands on the sick, may they recover.

Whatever his hands find to do, I pray he does it with all his might.  Then he will see evidence of Your blessing in it.

Let there be focus to his endeavors, touching only that which prospers and brings life.

As he opens his hands and puts them to the plow, provide all that is needed to finish the task set before him.

May he freely open his hands to bless others and to be that vessel which is always flowing.

In the name of Jesus---Amen

God Bless My Child with the Understanding of Your Word

Father, even the disciples fell short in understanding spiritual things; things not of this world, and yet, obtainable through You.  You opened their eyes to see and they believed.

Speak to my child, too, throughout his life.  When he reads the Scripture, may he hear Your voice and cause him to respond to the Spirit of life received through Your Words.

At an early age may he desire to trade his time for Your presence.  Open his understanding as he reads each Word.  Reveal hidden treasures so he may know You more intimately.

All that he needs is found in Your Word.   May Your Words be sought like precious treasure so that in his heart will be stored a wealth of wisdom to guide him all of his days.

Thank you for giving us such a special gift in our son. While he is young I will teach him Your promises.

Grant him the ability to retain Your words in his heart and mind.  Help him to memorize your Words of truth and “to hide them in his heart...” (Psalm 119:11)  We do this for Your glory, Lord.

In the Name of Jesus---Amen

God Bless My Child with Strength and Success

Lord, when I read about the strong men of old, I see that their strength always manifested from obedience.  The physical strength of Samson was obtained from obeying the vows set for him.   The strength and victories of men like Joshua and David were accomplished by being obedient to the instruction of God.

So, in asking for strength and success for my child, I pray that he will have an obedient heart.  I ask for a heart that will be sensitive to the voice of his God.

I will teach him from an early age to obey Your voice before listening to the voice of man.

I will show him the rewards of obedience by recognizing the blessings around us.

I will speak of the value and completeness of serving our Creator, the One who knows us better than we know ourselves.

May my child have success everywhere he goes.   May everything he touches bring forth a bountiful harvest of reward and provision.

Each day he wakes, may he be aware of the present strength of the Lord for each task ahead.

“The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1) As we walk forward by Your instruction, we recognize that You are our strength.  There will be nothing to fear when Your Word has been sent before us.  It has made preparation for our arrival.

We shall wait on You, Oh, Lord, and be of good courage, and You will strengthen our heart; Wait on the Lord! (Psalm 27:14)

In the name of Jesus---Amen

God Bless My Child With Faith

Lord, Your Word says that “without faith, it is impossible to please You” (Hebrews 11:6) and Your Word comforts us in that You have given us all a “measure of faith” (Romans 12:3).  You have already provided us what we need to please You.

Help my child to use his faith, to exercise that which You gave him; first, in relationship with You, and then, growth in You.

In everyday circumstances may he know, wholeheartedly, that “You are the supplier of all his needs” (Philippians 4:19).

In sickness, that “You are the God that heals” (Psalm 103:3).

In fear, that “You will never leave him” (Hebrews 13:5).

In weakness, that “Your strength is made perfect” (2 Corinthians 12:8).

May there be manifestations of his faith.  In response to his prayers of faith, may there be miracles unfold in lives of those around him.  May he know, without doubt, that You are “God, the I Am.”

May he always walk with the assurance that You are with him and for him.

In the Name of Jesus---Amen

God Bless My Child With Pleasant Speech

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

Father, I have always thought that the beauty of a person is determined only after one has heard them speak . . . beauty to ashes when filth spews from the mouth.

I ask for my child to have the speech of a trained and disciplined orator.

I ask for my child to have the disposition of a kind and gentle servant.

I ask for my child to have the boldness of a warrior man of God.

I ask that the words that come from his mouth be words of encouragement, strength, and  hope.

May his words be sought after because they are filled with wisdom.

May words of gossip and slander never pass his lips.

Help him to always have keep praise in his heart. Your Word says that “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:34)  So from his mouth may there be evidence of Your presence that resides within.

All that would cause him to spill forth righteousness, I ask for him. May he be found, as David, worshipping his King. May the praises of his mouth bring You glory and leave the enemy defenseless.

May he create unity in an atmosphere of chaos; bringing order around him.

Help me to create an atmosphere of praise in our home and continually release words from a heart of honor to You.

Lord, You are worthy of our praise. May my words and meditation be acceptable to you.

In the Name of Jesus---Amen
